The original Catskill Mountain House® stood as America's first grand resort hotel, perched at 2,250 feet overlooking The Hudson Valley. From 1824 to 1963, it drew artists, writers, presidents and visionaries seeking an escape and inspiration.
Thomas Cole painted its vistas. Washington Irving found stories in its forests. The Hudson River School was born from its light. This wasn't just a hotel — it was the birthplace of American landscape appreciation.

Truly one of the best Airbnbs I've stayed in. The pictures do not do this place justice! Everything was incredibly well-stocked, from the kitchen to bar supplies to linens and towels for the hot tub. My parents in law (aged 80 plus) were very grateful that the master bedroom was on the ground floor.
